Track Finder
The other direction of the genre map: start from a track, end up at a genre.
Type an artist and title and this asks Discogs, MusicBrainz, Apple Music and Deezer at once - and if the exact mix is not there, it widens the search a rung at a time rather than giving up. Pick the right result and it goes back out for that exact record: the releases and their tracklists, and the tempo. Whatever comes back is mapped onto my own genre map. Two sources naming the same family is the answer; one or none is reported as inconclusive rather than guessed at. It all runs in your browser - no server, no account.
Type a track. Four public music databases are asked at once, from your browser, and whatever comes back gets mapped onto the genres on /music/genres.
Pick the right result from the list and it is looked up again properly - the exact releases, their tracklists, and the tempo - before it commits to a genre. Two sources naming the same family is the answer; one or none is reported as inconclusive.
